In response to the "102" rear-end collision of a heavy semi-trailer on the Jiguang Expressway, which resulted in 3 deaths, Chang'an Qiyuan official once again responded on June 1, providing further clarification on the hardware configuration of the accident vehicle and the applicable scenarios of the advanced driver assistance system. In the response, Chang'an Qiyuan explicitly stated that the accident vehicle was the 2024 model of the Chang'an Qiyuan A07, equipped with the previous generation IACC system, and the vehicle did not have a laser radar. Regarding the actual detection capability of the system in complex environments, Chang'an Qiyuan officials pointed out that IACC is suitable for use on highways or roads with good conditions. In case of inclement weather or poor visibility, such as rain, fog, dust storms, insufficient lighting, etc., the system may not be able to detect obstacles ahead and respond effectively.
