Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Preferred Networks will collaborate to develop AI technology.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries announced a commercial alliance agreement with the Japanese AI company Preferred Networks on June 2, to jointly develop cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology with the goal of reaching a capital and business alliance agreement within the fiscal year 2026. The statement said that the two companies will explore joint development of autonomous AI-driven machinery and systems for critical tasks, combining Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' hardware, control, and simulation technology with Preferred Networks' independently developed AI basic models, AI chips, and computing infrastructure.
