BlackRock: UK government bonds are expected to remain volatile in the near future.
Strategists at BlackRock's think tank stated in a report that due to concerns about inflation risks, British government bonds may face greater volatility in the near future. They pointed out that natural gas accounts for a large proportion of energy usage in the UK, but reserves are limited. This makes the UK "especially vulnerable to the impact of inflation rebound." According to Tradeweb data, the yield on 10-year British government bonds fell by 2 basis points to the latest 4.851%, after hitting a five-week low of 4.805% earlier in the session.
