Organization: Global new energy vehicle sales in 1Q26 fell by 2% year-on-year, with Tesla reclaiming the title of top-selling pure electric car brand.
According to the latest statistics from TrendForce, the global sales of new energy vehicles including pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles reached 3.94 million units in the first quarter of 2026, a decrease of 2% compared to the previous year, accounting for 19% of global automotive sales in the first quarter. The Chinese new energy vehicle market is entering a period of adjustment; at the same time, there are signs of recovery in the Western European market, and significant growth in sales of pure electric vehicles in Japan and South Korea.
