Hong Kong, China: Subsidy for local passenger and commercial vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas fuel launched for two months.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's cross-departmental monitoring of the fuel supply special task force announced today that the government will provide a subsidy of HK$0.5 per liter of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to taxis, public light buses, and school private light buses starting from midnight on May 31. The temporary measure will last for two months, until 11:59 pm on July 30. A government spokesperson stated that the temporary measure is aimed at reducing the operating costs of local commercial vehicles using LPG as their main fuel, in order to alleviate their pricing pressures. It is estimated that the measure will benefit approximately 16,900 LPG taxis, around 3,440 LPG public light buses, and around 170 LPG school private light buses.
