On May 27, Miao Shengming, Deputy Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, stated at a press conference of the State Council Information Office that the procuratorial organs will comprehensively strengthen legal supervision over activities such as case filing, investigation, trial, and enforcement, focusing on strengthening supervision over effective judgments, and enhancing supervision over coercive measures involving citizens' personal rights, such as "sealing, seizure, freezing," enforcement of criminal sentences, enforcement of civil judgments and rulings, and increasing the targeted supervision. Conduct procuratorial investigations in accordance with the law, and investigate and punish crimes committed by judicial personnel using their powers, such as abuse of power, illegal detention, and extracting confessions through torture, and severely punish judicial corruption.
