Issuance of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan for Water Security Guarantee in Zhejiang Province"

The General Office of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province issued the "Zhejiang Province 'Fifteen Five' Water Security Plan", in which it proposed to promote water resources allocation projects in southeast Zhejiang, central Zhejiang, and northern Zhejiang, to facilitate the smooth flow of the main arteries of the Zhejiang water network, and to transport high-quality water resources to relatively water-scarce areas, promoting regional coordinated development. Implement regional water diversion projects such as the east-west connection of the Ningbo reservoir group, connecting existing water sources, expanding the coverage of the original water pipeline network, promoting the construction of standby water sources and emergency water sources for water plants, and achieving "multi-source backup" in key areas. Improve the rural water supply system, construct a number of small reservoirs, small water diversion projects, and large-scale water supply projects, gradually advance the upgrading and renovation of rural water supply pipelines, and continuously improve the rural water supply security capabilities. Vigorously promote water-saving projects, accelerate the construction of industrial water plants, water reuse, seawater desalination, and other projects, promote the transformation of water use into a cycle and unconventional water use. By 2030, the annual additional water diversion capacity will be 1 billion cubic meters, the annual reservoir water supply capacity will be increased to 460 million cubic meters, and the coverage of large-scale water supply projects for rural populations will reach 92%.
