Nigerian President Tinubu nominated to run for the 2027 presidential election

Nigerian President Buhari Tinubu emerged victorious in the ruling party's internal primaries and was nominated as the party's candidate for the 2027 presidential election. Tinubu stated in a speech in the capital Abuja that he will continue to advance economic reforms, strengthen the national economic foundation, and promote economic growth, industrialization, energy security, infrastructure development, and food security. Tinubu was elected president of Nigeria in 2023.
