Clear rights of older workers will be implemented starting July 1st in the first special regulation.
On May 25, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and 5 other departments issued the "Provisional Regulations on the Protection of the Basic Rights and Interests of Over-Age Workers" to the public, which will be implemented from July 1. This is China's first specific regulation on the protection of the rights and interests of over-age workers, filling in the gaps in the existing labor laws and regulations in China. It clarifies the rights and obligations of employers and over-age workers, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of over-age workers in terms of wages, rest and vacation, occupational health and safety, and work-related injury protection.
