Munich Reinsurance appoints Gavin Maistry as Chief Executive Officer for Life and Health Insurance in Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa.

Munich Re announced on May 21st that Gavin Maistry will succeed Daniel Cossette as the Chief Executive Officer of Life and Health Reinsurance for Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. He will take up the position in the second half of 2026, and his current role as the global Chief Actuary for Life and Health Reinsurance will be transitioned before his new appointment. Gavin Maistry will report to Munich Re board member Mari-Lizette Malherbe. Daniel Cossette has decided to retire after 19 years of service with the company, concluding his tenure.
