National Development and Reform Commission: China's economy is operating steadily, and the trend of development towards new and better conditions remains unchanged.
On May 22, the National Development and Reform Commission held a press conference. At the meeting, Li Chao, deputy director of the Policy Research Office of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that China's economy has shown strong vitality and resilience this year. Some economic indicators fluctuated in April, partly due to increased uncertainties in the external environment, rising geopolitical risks, and the fact that the contradiction between strong supply and weak demand domestically has not fundamentally changed. However, overall, China's economy is running smoothly, and the trend towards new and better development has not changed. This is specifically reflected in three aspects: first, emerging industries are growing stronger, with China's high-tech manufacturing industry maintaining rapid growth in value added, investment, exports, and profits; second, market efficiency has improved, with the governance of production capacity in key industries and comprehensive rectification of "zero-sum" competition showing results, gradually improving the supply and demand relationship in some industries, stabilizing enterprise prices, increasing enterprise profits, and improving market expectations; third, the resilience of foreign trade is evident. Faced with a turbulent international environment, China relies on its complete industrial system to continuously improve the quality of products and services.
