Google I/O Conference: Gemini's monthly active users approaching 900 million, AI search sweeping 2.5 billion users

At the recently opened Google I/O conference, Google CEO Sundar Pichai presented a remarkably impressive report card that Google has delivered in the era of AI to developers worldwide. Pichai announced in his speech that GeminiApp, as Google's core AI product, has seen explosive growth in monthly active users over the past year, skyrocketing from 400 million in May 2025 to over 900 million by April 2026.
