In Reading, UK, four students have been diagnosed with meningitis and one person has died.

This is the fourth confirmed case in the area, all of them being type B meningitis. The four individuals had contact with each other, but attended different schools. One person died last week due to meningitis, and the other three are currently receiving treatment. Two months ago, a large-scale meningitis infection occurred in Kent, UK, resulting in the death of two individuals from type B meningitis.
