The 13th World Urban Forum opens in Azerbaijan.

The 13th World Urban Forum opened in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on the 17th, with the theme "Cities and Communities: Safe and Resilient". This is the first time that the World Urban Forum has been held in the South Caucasus region. Co-organized by UN-Habitat and the government of Azerbaijan, the forum will continue until the 22nd. According to the forum's official website, there are approximately 41,000 registered participants. The forum will discuss solutions to informal settlements and slums, address the global housing crisis, and promote the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals, especially those related to the sustainable development of cities and communities.
