Chang Junhong attends the 11th Board of Governors Annual Meeting of the New Development Bank
The 11th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the New Development Bank was held in Moscow, the capital of Russia, from May 14th to 15th, 2026. The theme of this year's meeting was "Development Financing in the Era of Technological Revolution," attended by board members and representatives of the NDB member countries, as well as President Marcos Troy. Assistant Minister of Finance Chang Junhong also attended and delivered a speech. Chang Junhong stated that the global economic recovery is weak, international situations are complex and changing, and the world is entering a new era of turbulence and transformation, with rising uncertainties and instabilities. NDB should uphold the spirit of openness, inclusiveness, cooperation, and mutual benefit of the BRICS, clarify its strategic direction, expand partnerships, participate in global governance, and strive to become the strongest and most reliable development partner to help BRICS countries and other developing countries achieve modernization. Chang Junhong emphasized that as the host country and shareholder of the NDB, China will, in accordance with President Xi Jinping's requirement to "build, maintain, and develop the New Development Bank," continue to provide strong support and high-quality services for the future development of the NDB, support its stable operation and long-term development, and promote the NDB to smoothly enter the second "Golden Decade" of high-quality development. During the meeting, Chang Junhong held bilateral meetings or exchanges with President Marcos Troy, Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia, Chebeskov, and the Director-General of the National Treasury Department of South Africa, Pitts.
