Institution: Continued strength in 2Q26 Mobile DRAM contract prices, compressing smartphone production.

According to the latest storage survey from TrendForce, contract prices for Mobile DRAM in the second quarter of 2026 continue to rise significantly, putting heavier cost pressure on smartphone brands. Among them, there is a differentiation in price strategies between the two major Korean manufacturers: Samsung tends to raise prices significantly all at once, while based on the temporary quotes currently provided by SK hynix, the price increase is relatively moderate, adopting a gradual price increase strategy and estimated to be finalized by late May. Overall, TrendForce estimates that the average selling price of LPDDR4X in the second quarter will increase by at least 70%-75% compared to the previous quarter, while LPDDR5X is expected to increase by 78%-83% quarter-on-quarter.
