The current trend index of business income for small and medium-sized enterprises in Hong Kong fell to 44 in April 2026.

According to the Zhixun Finance APP, the Census and Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today (May 12) released the results of the monthly statistical survey on the business conditions of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in April 2026. The current trend index for business revenue of SMEs fell from 44.3 in March 2026 in the contraction area to 44.0 in April 2026, while the business revenue outlook index for the next month (May 2026) is 47.5. By industry analysis, the current trend index for business revenue of some industries covered in the survey declined in April 2026 compared to the previous month, especially in the food and beverage industry (from 40.6 to 38.1), import and export trade industry (from 46.3 to 45.4), and wholesale industry (from 42.2 to 41.3).
