On May 12th, the short drama version of the Douyin Group held the first Short Drama Industry Conference. Le Li, the chief editor of Hongguo Short Drama, said that the Douyin Group will continue to invest in supporting the development of real-life short dramas. The Short Drama Copyright Center has recently launched several support plans for real-life short dramas, including increasing the content sharing ratio for core categories of real-life dramas; setting up a policy to incentivize top dramas with a maximum of 1.5 million yuan per episode; introducing up to 20% incentive for sequels; setting up a special fund of 2 billion yuan to support content such as realism, suspense, and urban group dramas. The relevant person in charge stated that the minimum support budget for real-life short dramas in 2026 will exceed 1.5 billion yuan, with an average increase of about 60% from last year.
