State Council Work Safety Commission and Ministry of Emergency Management video dispatch on safety and prevention work in key areas and some tourist attractions.
On May 3, the State Council Security Commission and the Ministry of Emergency Management held a video conference to coordinate safety precautions in key areas such as Shanxi, Liaoning, Fujian, Henan, Yunnan, and Xinjiang, as well as some tourist attractions. The aim was to further enhance safety measures during the May Day holiday and to supervise the enforcement of safety measures through inspections and visits. The meeting emphasized the importance of paying attention to road traffic safety risks. It called for increased patrols on key road sections and strict crackdown on illegal activities such as operating without qualifications, overloading, fatigue driving, and transporting passengers in trucks or agricultural vehicles.
The meeting also highlighted the need to focus on safety risks in tourist attractions. It urged the strict implementation of safety responsibilities in tourist areas and thorough inspections of high-risk attractions such as amusement park rides, cable cars, suspension bridges, glass walkways, parachute jumps, and other large amusement facilities to prevent safety hazards and ensure safe operation of facilities. It also emphasized the importance of monitoring and guiding visitor flow and providing timely safety guidance and measures such as crowd control, crowd limitation, and evacuation.
The meeting further emphasized the need to address safety risks in crowded places. It stressed the importance of strengthening safety inspections in large comprehensive complexes, catering and accommodation facilities, cultural and entertainment venues, nursing homes, foot bath parlors, and KTV venues. Any major hazards discovered should be promptly disclosed and followed up on. During the holiday period, relevant members of the State Council Security Commission and inspection teams have been dispatched to conduct inspections at the grassroots level. It called for continued efforts to carry out inspections, promptly respond to findings, rectify major accident hazards, and effectively implement all responsibilities to ensure the safety of the people during the holiday.
