On May 3rd local time, a house explosion occurred in Bristol, England, resulting in two deaths, and the authorities have declared it a "major incident." Avon and Somerset Police said they received a report around 6:30 am on the same day and rushed to a residence on Franklyn Street in Stapleton. Subsequently, the police cordoned off the area of the incident and evacuated nearby residents to temporary shelter. The police stated that although the threat level in the UK has recently been raised, the incident is not being treated as a terrorist attack at the moment, and they urge the public not to speculate on the cause of the incident and to stay away from the area to allow emergency services to carry out their work. A local resident said he heard a "huge explosion" at the time of the incident and immediately jumped out of bed to check the situation. Within minutes, a large number of police, including armed officers, arrived at the scene. About 15 to 20 minutes later, the police began organizing the evacuation of nearby residents. The police said that the establishment of the cordon was a "precautionary measure to safeguard public safety." There are currently no signs indicating that other houses have suffered serious damage.
