South Korea's market value exceeds 10 trillion won for the first time, with the number of companies exceeding 400.
The number of South Korean listed companies with a market value exceeding 1 trillion South Korean won has surpassed 400 for the first time this year, thanks to the strong rebound in the stock market before the outbreak of the conflict in the Middle East. Data from the Korea Exchange shows that as of Wednesday, there were 405 listed companies with a market value exceeding 1 trillion South Korean won. By market segment, 267 are listed on the Korea Composite Stock Price Index, 137 are listed on the tech-heavy Korea Securities Dealers Automated Quotations (KOSDAQ), and 1 is listed on the Korea New Exchange (KONEX) for small and medium-sized enterprises and venture capital. Among these companies, 79 have a market value exceeding 10 trillion South Korean won.
