On May 1st at 19:40, a full freighter aircraft from the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa smoothly landed at Ezhou Huahu International Airport, the fourth global and first professional cargo hub airport in Asia. This is the first freight flight from Africa to Ezhou Airport and the first to enjoy zero tariff policy since China implemented a zero tariff policy on imported goods from 53 African countries on May 1, 2026. The aircraft was loaded with specialty products such as coffee beans, flowers, and fruits. The "Ezhou Addis Ababa" cargo route is operated by Ethiopian Airlines, with nearly 200 flights in 2025 and a freight volume exceeding 20,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 215.9%.
