Germany's right-wing extremist violence incidents reached a new high in 2025 since 2016.
The 2025 statistics from the German Federal Criminal Police Office show that there were 1598 reported violent crimes with right-wing motives in that year, the highest since 2016. According to a report from the Deutsche Presse-Agentur on May 1, this number was 1270 in 2023 and 1488 in 2024. In 2025, most of the violent crimes with right-wing motives were suspected of causing personal injury. Typical politically motivated crimes in Germany include defamation of the state and its symbols, incitement of hatred, insults, and related violent crimes such as murder, personal injury, disruption of public order, dangerous obstruction of traffic, illegal deprivation of liberty, and violent resistance to law enforcement officers.
