On the evening of April 30th, Chinese lead negotiator and Vice Premier of the State Council, He Lifeng, held a video call with the American lead negotiators, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Trade Representative Katherine Tai. The two sides focused on implementing the important consensus reached during the China-US summit meeting and previous calls between the leaders, discussing ways to properly address economic and trade issues of mutual concern and expand practical cooperation in a frank, in-depth, and constructive manner. The Chinese side expressed serious concerns about recent US restrictions on economic and trade measures.
