Former Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress, Hong Lihe, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the first instance for accepting bribes totaling more than 92.2 million yuan.
On April 28, 2026, the Fuzhou Intermediate People's Court in Fujian Province publicly sentenced Hong Lihe, former Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Jiangxi Province, for bribery, abuse of power, and money laundering. Hong Lihe was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for bribery, fined 7 million RMB, sentenced to nine years and six months in prison for abuse of power, fined 500,000 RMB, and sentenced to three years and six months in prison for money laundering, fined 50,000 RMB. It was decided to implement a sentence of twenty years in prison and a fine of 7.5 million RMB. The illicit gains and interest obtained from the crime shall be recovered in accordance with the law and turned over to the national treasury.
