The EU demands that the Android system be open to competition from AI services.
On the 27th, the European Union proposed a series of corrective measures against Google, requiring its Android operating system to be open to competitors' artificial intelligence services. Google responded by expressing opposition. The European Commission stated in a press release that the measures aim to ensure that Google's competitors' artificial intelligence services can effectively interact with and perform tasks on users' phones or tablets, such as "sending emails using the user's preferred email application, ordering food, or sharing photos with friends." Currently, Google mostly only allows Android system users to access such services through Google's AI products. The press release also stated that the measures could help Google's competitors improve the integrated artificial intelligence service experience and provide users with more choices.
