On April 12th, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee authorized the release of ten policy measures to promote cross-strait exchanges and cooperation. According to the People's Finance News, the Fujian Development and Reform Commission will focus on implementing the "Ten Policies", with a focus on upgrading cross-strait economic and trade industry cooperation platforms, facilitating the development of Taiwan's agriculture and fisheries industries, improving the quality and capacity of small-value transactions with Taiwan, and actively promoting key projects for integrated development between Fujian and Taiwan. The aim is to address the needs and desires of Taiwan compatriots and enterprises, continuously deepen integration and development in various fields, and allow more people from both sides of the strait to share the benefits of integration and development.
Furthermore, Fujian has already stabilized water supply to Kinmen and supplies water via shipping to Matsu. It also has the conditions to supply electricity to Kinmen and natural gas via shipping. The Xiamen-Kinmen and Fuzhou-Matsu bridge projects have been included in the national highway network planning and are currently being accelerated. In the next steps, adhering to the principle of prioritizing people's livelihoods, Fujian will actively communicate and negotiate with Kinmen and Matsu to mature and promote each project.
In addition, regarding the construction of a cross-strait integration and development demonstration zone, Fujian will focus on the positioning of the zone and concentrate on infrastructure connectivity, smooth economic and trade exchanges, and shared public services. It will take the initiative to lead and try first, optimize the business environment related to Taiwan, ensure equal treatment for Taiwanese capital, enterprises, and compatriots, and promote the practical results of the construction of the cross-strait integration and development demonstration zone.
