The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security held a routine press conference. Cui Pengcheng, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, introduced that as of the end of March, the number of people participating in basic old-age insurance, unemployment insurance, and work-related injury insurance nationwide were 1.073 billion, 247 million, and 319 million respectively, with an increase of 1.87 million, 2.8 million, and 21.52 million compared to the previous year. In the first quarter, the total income of the three social insurance funds was 2.54 trillion yuan, the total expenditure was 2.06 trillion yuan, and the accumulated balance at the end of March was 10.8 trillion yuan. The operation of the funds overall remained stable.
