Ghanaian military convoy attacked while escorting civilians, killing 7 armed individuals.
The Ghana Armed Forces issued a statement on the 27th saying that a military convoy escorting civilians was attacked by unidentified armed individuals that day, resulting in the death of 3 civilians and injuring 1. Seven attackers were killed in the incident. The statement said that the convoy was escorting 140 civilians from the Bawku area in the Upper East Region to the capital, Bolgatanga, when they were ambushed multiple times. The military killed 7 attackers and arrested 10 suspects. Due to longstanding tribal disputes in the area, the military has deployed troops to the Bawku area to maintain peace.
