Former Israeli Prime Minister Bennett and Lapid form new party to challenge Netanyahu.
On April 26th local time, former Israeli Prime Minister Bennett and another former Prime Minister and leader of the opposition "Yesh Atid" party, Lapid, officially announced the formation of a joint political party called "Yesh Atid", seeking to defeat the ruling coalition led by Likud leader and current Prime Minister Netanyahu in the parliamentary elections in October this year. Bennett and Lapid represent different voter groups, but their common goal is to end Netanyahu's rule. Bennett called on the "Integrity Party" led by former chief of staff Eisenkot to join the new party, as their inclusion is crucial to the election results. The legal charges facing Netanyahu have limited impact on the election, but if convicted before the election, it could change the election outcome.
