Last Saturday, there was a suspected gunman outside the White House Correspondents' Association dinner. President Trump said he did not know if he was the direct target of the gunman. At the time of the incident, he and several government officials were at the dinner venue. On Sunday local time, a host from CBS asked in an interview, "Mr. President, do you know if you were the target of the gunman?" "I don't know," Trump replied. Trump said he had reviewed the written materials related to the suspected shooter outside the dinner venue last Saturday that law enforcement had discovered. Officials said the writings indicated that the gunman's target was Trump administration officials, and also wrote that he could no longer stand idly by in the face of this government's actions. When asked how worried he was about casualties last Saturday, Trump paused for a moment. "I'm not worried," he said slowly. "I understand life. We live in a crazy world."
