On April 24, 2026, the Beijing International Auto Show opened. Reporters at the show found that most car models used mechanical door handles, with full hidden door handles decreasing and half hidden door handles increasing. On February 2 of this year, the mandatory national standard "Technical requirements for car door handle safety" was officially released, banning the use of full hidden designs. The new regulation will gradually take effect on new car models from January 2027 to January 2028, and on cars already in production from January 2029. Many car industry personnel have indicated that future car models will gradually move away from hidden door handles.
