Yuan Rong set out on a comprehensive bet on large-scale autonomous driving models.
On April 25th, at the Beijing Auto Show, former DeepSeek multimodal technology core researcher Ruan Chong made his first public appearance as the chief scientist of Yuanrong Qixing. CEO Zhou Guang stated that the multimodal large model capability has made breakthrough progress in early 2026, with the starting point of the large model autonomous driving route far superior to the previous generation technology. Small model autonomous driving has a "seesaw effect" and cannot achieve full-scene safety coverage, so the company has fully shifted to a large model route. Ruan Chong introduced that the company is transitioning from multiple small models to a unified base large model architecture, differentiated into driving, analysis, and evaluation three more specific models. The current single model iteration cycle has been compressed from over 100 hours to over 10 hours.
