A judge has expressed doubt about whether a $100 billion privacy lawsuit filed by President Trump against the IRS and the Treasury Department can proceed, as Trump effectively controls both sides of the lawsuit. U.S. District Judge Williams has ordered the Justice Department to explain in writing by May 20 how she should oversee the case when the Constitution requires that a court have legitimate "adversarial controversy" jurisdiction to hear a case. The judge stated that considering Trump is the current president and his appointed adversary is an entity under his leadership, at present, "this court is not yet clear whether there is sufficient adversarial nature between the parties" to establish jurisdiction.
