U.S. Treasury Secretary says he has no intention of running for president, but does not rule out the possibility of serving as the chairman of the Federal Reserve in the future.
After stepping down from his position at the Department of Finance, Benson hopes to continue researching supply chains, military preparedness, artificial intelligence policies, and financial regulation issues in a non-governmental capacity. He stated that he has no intention of running for president or any other elected office. "I will never consider such positions," he said. "I will be like the current government's Colin Powell." However, when asked about the Federal Reserve, he paused and responded, "I do not rule out the possibility of becoming Chairman of the Federal Reserve in the future. This position does not require an election, can lead the economy, and is part of an independent institutional framework."
