Ministry of Commerce: Explore rules and suggestions in response to the new issue of copyright for AI-generated products.

With the explosive growth of generative artificial intelligence, the ownership and compliance risks of AI-created content copyrights have become one of the new topics that Chinese technology companies face when going overseas. During a press conference by the Information Office of the State Council on April 24, Yu Ning, Director General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Commerce, mentioned the topic of copyright of artificial intelligence-generated works when answering reporters' questions. It was introduced that the Ministry of Commerce, in combination with new issues such as the copyrightability of artificial intelligence-generated works, is exploring and proposing rule suggestions to promote related trading partners to jointly improve the level of intellectual property protection.
