Australia and New Zealand Bank appoints first artificial intelligence head

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has appointed Kai Yang as its first Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer, and he will join the bank in July. Yang previously served as the Chief Data and Analytics Officer for HSBC Holdings Limited in Asia and the Middle East region, and he will lead ANZ's enterprise data and artificial intelligence agenda. In the fierce war for talent, Yang's appointment is one of the moves made by major banks to strengthen their technology teams and apply artificial intelligence in various fields.
