Analysts at Citigroup Group stated that South Korea's exports in April may continue to experience strong growth driven by semiconductors. These analysts pointed out that chip exports in the first 20 days of April reached a historic high, and they expect South Korea's exports this month to increase by 46.3% year-on-year, revised from 49.2% in March. They anticipate that imports in April will increase by 12.9% year-on-year, with a trade surplus reaching $24.8 billion, down from the revised $26.24 billion in March. They stated in their report, "Despite rising energy prices, with the boost from semiconductor exports, the historically strong current account surplus may continue."
