CCTV reporters learned on the 23rd local time that US President Donald Trump is expected to participate in some aspects of the second round of direct talks between Israel and Lebanon at the White House. It is reported that Trump also plans to meet with the ambassadors of the two countries upon their arrival in the US. The second round of talks comes as Lebanon's ten-day ceasefire agreement is set to expire. Israeli Ambassador to the US Yehiel Littell and Lebanese Ambassador to the US Nada Hammoud Mouawad will attend the talks. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is expected to participate in some of the meetings. In addition, US ambassadors to Israel Mike Hakaabi, Lebanon Michele Issa, and State Department advisor Michael Neidem will also attend. The first round of direct talks between Israel and Lebanon took place last week at the US State Department.
