Acting Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche of the U.S. Department of Justice signed an order on April 23 to reclassify state-licensed medical marijuana from the strictest Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act to the less dangerous Schedule III. This is one of the most significant changes in U.S. federal marijuana policy in fifty years.
