Christoph von den Bergen, head of the UNESCO Earth Sciences and Geological Parks department, said in an interview that China is a heavyweight country in the world geological park network and has established a relatively mature geological park network. Many countries are learning from China's experiences in this field. According to the news bulletin released by UNESCO on that day, 12 geological parks were approved to join its world geological park network, including Changshan World Geological Park in Zhejiang Province and Siguniangshan World Geological Park in Sichuan Province of China. With this, China now has a total of 51 world geological parks, maintaining its position as the world leader in the number of parks.
