On April 23, Jin Yuzhi stated at the Huawei Qiankun Technology Conference that each type of sensor has inherent advantages and disadvantages, and only the technology route of multi-sensor fusion can provide a safety net for autonomous driving. He pointed out that the performance of cameras severely decreases in low light and backlight environments, while LiDAR is good at recognizing distant small targets and irregular obstacles, and mmWave radar can accurately detect in harsh weather conditions such as rain, fog, and dust. The three complement each other to cover all safety scenarios. It is reported that Huawei Qiankun has invested nearly 10 billion yuan in research and development this year, and will invest at least 70-80 billion yuan in the next 5 years, firmly following the fusion perception route.
