Currently, the proportion of independently bred crop varieties in China exceeds 95%, while the domestic market share of livestock, poultry, aquatic products, and vegetables seeds is over 80%, 86%, and 91% respectively, achieving the goal of using "Chinese seeds" for "Chinese grains" and main varieties being generally independently controllable. In terms of germplasm resources, the foundation is even stronger. The largest scale agricultural germplasm resource census since the founding of the People's Republic of China has been completed, with 139,000 new collections of agricultural germplasm resources. Three national gene banks for crops, livestock, and marine aquaculture have been established, with the total resource storage ranking first in the world.
