Min Joo Kang, an economist at the Netherlands International Group, said that if chip manufacturers experience shortages of key production materials in the coming quarters, export growth driven by South Korean semiconductors may be suppressed. The Middle East is a major supplier of helium and other materials used in chip manufacturing. Kang stated in a recent report: "If the supply disruption continues, the negative impact may manifest in the second half of 2026."
