Emergency Management Department: This year's flood season will implement "one strategy for each province," and be prepared for cross-regional support.
The Emergency Management Department held a press conference today to report on the natural disasters in the first three months, and to introduce the current flood season emergency preparedness, disaster monitoring and early warning, and forest and grassland fire prevention and control situation. On April 1st, China officially entered the flood season. According to forecasts, this year's weather situation during the flood season in China is abnormal, with a high number of extreme weather events and a prominent risk of heavy rain and flooding in northern regions. In response, relevant departments have strengthened the emergency rescue preparations in terms of personnel and equipment, and are ready for cross-regional support according to the "one province, one case" plan. Fan Zhaohui, Director of the Rescue Coordination Bureau of the Emergency Management Department, introduced that each province is preparing a cross-regional support force of 10,000 personnel, over 90 aircrafts of various types, and a dewatering capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per hour; in addition, professional engineering rescue forces are being deployed in 11 key areas nationwide to ensure rapid response and early intervention.
