SpaceX's filings warn that space AI technology is unverified and may not be commercialized.
A SpaceX filing shows that the company warned investors that its plans to build a space artificial intelligence data center and establish human settlements on the moon and Mars rely on unproven technologies and may not be commercially viable. The commercial risks listed in the document submitted before the company's initial public offering have not been disclosed previously, and its assessment of future prospects is much more cautious than the vision CEO Musk has recently portrayed. The company is currently preparing for what could be the largest IPO in history. According to U.S. securities laws, the prospectus must list risk factors to alert investors to potential risks and protect the company from future legal liability. In an excerpt from the S-1 filing seen by the media, SpaceX stated: "Our development of orbital AI computing power and related plans for orbital, lunar, and interstellar industrialization are in the early stages, involving highly complex and unvalidated technologies that may not be commercially viable."
