According to sources, Japanese Finance Minister Kogure Katsumi plans to meet with major domestic banks and other financial institutions as early as this week to discuss Anthropic's new AI model, Mythos. The company has previously stated that this model is powerful enough to launch complex cyber attacks. Sources say that Kogure will hold talks with large Japanese financial institutions such as Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Mitsui Sumitomo Financial Group, and Mizuho Financial Group. Due to the discussion of confidential information, sources have requested to remain anonymous. The Japanese Financial Services Agency has declined to comment on the planned meetings. Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of Australia is closely monitoring developments related to the AI model Mythos, stating in a statement that they are "communicating with other regulatory agencies, government departments, and supervised entities." The statement also notes, "The Reserve Bank of Australia will continue to assess the impact of these technological advancements with peer regulatory agencies and government bodies to ensure the ongoing safety and resilience of the financial system."
