Apex Securities analyst To Zheng Hong stated in a report that despite ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the trade outlook for Malaysia in 2026 remains optimistic. With the growth cycle led by artificial intelligence and the increasing use of semiconductors in electric vehicles and other industrial sectors, the continued demand for electrical and electronic products should continue to support exports. The analyst stated, "Malaysia should also benefit from its position as a net energy exporter, especially in liquefied natural gas, as rising energy prices provide some support for trade balances." With the rising prices of crude oil, major commodity exports including palm oil may also benefit from increased demand for biofuels.
