On April 21st, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the development of industry and information technology in the first quarter of 2026. Zhang Yunming, Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology, stated that in the first quarter, industrial scientific and technological innovation has deepened and solidified, with further growth potential being stimulated, driving the deep integration of scientific and industrial innovation. Up to now, the first batch of 21 national-level manufacturing pilot platforms and 14 excellent technology-based business incubators have been selected, creating a smooth bridge from laboratories to production lines. In the first quarter, 304 industry standards were released for the upgrading of traditional industries, the expansion of emerging industries, and the layout of future industries. The value added of high-tech manufacturing above a certain scale increased by 12.5% year-on-year, and new technologies such as artificial intelligence accelerated their application in the electronic consumer goods industry.
