The Dutch government estimates that, relying on domestic production and strategic reserves, Europe can provide enough aviation kerosene to sustain member states' economies for about five months. In a letter to parliament, the Dutch government stated that, due to the halt of most imports, the supply of domestic aviation kerosene is currently at 78% of normal levels. It is worth noting that some of the largest refineries in Europe are located in the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Due to the conflict in Iran, several European airlines had previously warned that there might be a shortage of aviation fuel within weeks.
